Pan Brusco Bruschetteria Business Card

Pan Brusco Bruschetteria Business Card

Davide Scarpantonio designed these business cards for Pan Brusco, a bruschetteria based in Ascoli Piceno, Italy.

Davide handled the brand identity from start to finish, including the naming and designing of the logotype.

“For the naming we have chosen a compound word that describes at best the core business of the restaurant – they produce ‘bruschetta’ (or grilled bread, hence the name Pan Brusco),” he said.

“For the brand identity I was inspired by the graphics of typical Italian restaurants, using sophisticated and vintage fonts, to try to recreate a homey but at the same time refined environment.”

The Printing of Business Cards

The business-cards were offset printed on refined papers, 320 grams, blue and beige; by a small family-run (typography) company based in Ascoli Piceno called Vallorani.

The cards are single-sided, printed only on the front with two colors – brown and typographic gold.

“These business cards look like letterpress but they aren’t, because we had a little budget,” Davide recalled.

“I will always remember that afternoon spent in the typography shop, in front of the Original Heidelberg 40x57cm that can print in just one color, while I was repeating to the printer: ‘Less water, more ink!’

“This was because the blue paper absorbed too much the typographic gold, and the colour was faded. In fact, the first cards printed seemed green. Beautiful day and excellent result!”
