Ellie Barker designed these business cards for Bloombox, a Northampton-based event hire business and bespoke party styling for all occasions.
The event planner’s business card is designed to be fun and luxurious, just like the business itself.
The rebranding gives the visual identity a stunning and chic personality.
At the same time, the gold accents give the wow factor without being too over the top and in your face.
Bloombox clients range from boutique baby showers to large corporate set-ups, birthdays to bridal. The brand’s primary focus is on quality.
Timeless Typography for a Glamorous Brand
The logo font was chosen carefully, just like the cards, to show the joyous and luxury side of the business.
“It’s a timeless type that won’t age and can adapt to the growth of the business,” Ellie said.
The transition from the letter “b” to the letter “l” is done with elegance. It’s the small yet delicate details as such that breathe life into the design and make it stand out from the crowd.
The added stroke at the end of the letter “m” is a beautiful finish to the word bloom, and yet shows continuity to the word box, hence the brand name.
Clear and simple, but packed with thoughtfulness.
“I love lowercase letters. They feel softer and flow better with the typography, including the little flick underneath.”
Besides the logotype, changing the font style of the word “bespoke” is such a bold and smart move!
The hand-lettering/script style font jumps out among the standard texts, similar to thinking outside the box, fitting the personalization concept based on the customers’ requirements.
Not only does it emphasize the central concept of Bloombox, but it also gives the brand a stylish and glamorous vibe.
The idea of transforming a special event into a more spectacular and memorable one.
The Confetti Pattern Design
The confetti pattern shows playfulness. However, by adding golden sparkles and dots among them, it enhances the appearance of the business card completely!
“The tagline ‘a little party never killed nobody’ and the confetti go hand in hand!” Ellie remarked.
“You instantly know this brand is about parties and celebrations, and it’s got that glamorous edge with the gold details.”
Modern and Premium Colours
Ellie had chosen a softer colour scheme, along with the gold colour for the business card.
“Bloombox’s owner wanted to move her business towards higher-end clients and be recognised for her quality and attention to detail.”
“The colour palette felt modern, adaptable and premium. It’s soft and approachable too.”
The Printing of Business Cards
MOO printed these rounded edge business cards on 380gsm super soft paper with gold foil printing.
“I chose to make the cards rounded to link with the curves in the logo, and it’s a lovely finish – cute but luxe,” Ellie explained.
“These details, although subtle, mean that when a customer holds the card they’ll think ‘this business pays attention to detail’ and feel in trusted hands!”
