Studio Chilli + Mango designed these business cards for The Fourth Floor, a London-based cocktail bar and restaurant.
“The design goal was to create a place where women could go and have fun – feel comfortable, let loose for a night and unapologetically be themselves,” said Jade, the Founder of Studio Chilli + Mango.
The business card is designed to express a cool, sexy and very obviously, a feminine image. According to Jade, the idea was to create something that felt like a ‘girl’s night out’, something that would excite the audience before they even stepped inside.
“I created a mascot and decided to use a very sassy woman, who almost feels exotic with her glass of wine and her beret. I used a minimalistic style for the illustration to keep the look modern and not too imposing.”
The typeface used for the logotype is called Abside by Hederae Type Foundry and it’s a very circular, modern sans serif that brings a lot of softness and ease to the overall look.
“The colour palette is very simple and bold: a bright pink, a bright red and white accents. The association of pink and red feels familiar and energizing. Apart from that, red also helps to open the appetite and is a nice contrast with pink.”
These business cards have not been printed yet but if they were, “The cards would be printed on thick, textured 32pt paper with a red seam, similar to these Luxe Business Cards,” Jade suggested.
