Ngoc Dang designed these business cards for The Coffee Viet, a shop that supplies Vietnamese coffee, drinks and food.
According to Ngoc Dang, the most popular item in the shop is Vietnamese coffee with good flavour and aroma, which inspired her to create this design.
“I aimed at creating a simple and unique design that impresses the client at first sight. A design that is highly applicable and easy to use is another criterion I tend towards. Therefore, I decided to create a logo that can be used independently and as decorative patterns in other categories of the brand identity,” she said.
“I started searching for materials and sketching out the logo of The Coffee Viet. Because the store is famous for their renowned Vietnamese coffee that makes them proud the most, I decided to choose a coffee cup image to create the main symbol of the logo.”
“Then, I created a logo that has a composite of 4 cups of coffee. When duplicating the logo and placing them side-by-side, we have a decorative pattern.”
The main colours used in the visual identity are Pearl Lusta, Cod Grey and Fuel Yellow.
The client handled the card-printing themselves. When been asked about the possible printing outcome, Ngoc Dang replied, “I advised the client to print the business cards on 400gsm art paper. The cards are uncoated because I tend towards the plainness and ‘pureness’ brought as the Vietnamese coffee beans.”
