Marli Venter designed these business cards for Lara Lord, a jewelry designer who uses gemstones and earthly treasures in her handmade jewelry.
According to Marli, the natural and organic shapes of gemstones, and precious natural resources inspired the project.
“The colours are inspired by a precious stone called ‘watermelon tourmaline’ which is one of Lara’s favourite stones to work with.”
“Our aim was to go for a soft and subtle brand design that also showcase the essence of handmade and craftsmanship with a unique spin.”
A hand-lettering or signature is a lovely way to add grace and personality to the overall design.
The overlapping colours are well positioned to leave enough space in the middle for the brand name to shine through.
These business cards are not printed yet. Even so, Marli suggested to use a thick card (between 350-450gsm), normal print of the background along with an embossed logo, which then applied with a gold foil print for that lasting impression.
