Marlo Biasutti designed these business cards for Five by Five Photography, a freelance Toronto-based photographer that shoots corporate portraits/events, weddings and families.
According to Marlo, the design inspiration for the Five by Five logo came from the name of the company. “‘5×5’ is an old aviation expression that means ‘ready for take-off’. So, it made sense to look to airplanes as a good visual representation.”
“The owner, Scott has a love for old, hand-made type. I managed to find a wonderful typeface that looked completely hand-made. The vintage airplane illustration paired perfectly with the aged aesthetic.”
“I wanted the shape of the logo marks and colour palette to look like vintage badge designs. Something you would see on an old aviation jumpsuit or stitched into clothing,” Marlo said.
These business cards were printed by Jukebox on 28 pt mega thick stock with a matt finish for the vintage feel.
