Marija Vasilijić designed these business cards for Sage, a local beauty studio that offers a range of services, from hair styling to skincare treatments.
The goal of the design was to create a unique and recognizable brand identity, and Marija did a fantastic job making sure the business cards look sophisticated and exquisite!
From the bespoke logo to the exquisite embossing pattern, each detail contributes to establishing a robust, inviting and natural brand image.
Logo and Pattern Design
When it comes to the logo design, the client aimed to create one that’s both unique and stands out from competitors! Also, it needs to evoke a sense of trust and luxury as well.
Marija explained that the idea for the unique arrangement of the brand’s initial letter “S” in the logo came from the desire to create a simple logo that would be easily recognizable.
“The design process involved playing around with different arrangements of the letter, exploring different shapes and styles, until the perfect balance was achieved.”
“The final design features a clean and modern serif font that complements the simplicity of the logomark, while also conveying a feeling of elegance and luxury.”
Marija also created a repeating logo pattern to establish a visual connection between the brand’s identity and the card, also, to express a sense of understated elegance and luxury!
Typography
The typeface used for the logotype is Arameza, a serif font that was chosen for its elegant and luxurious appearance.
“The font’s characteristics, such as its thick and thin strokes, convey a sense of sophistication and refinement, which is consistent with the brand’s focus on high-end beauty services,” Marija said.
“A sans-serif font Open Sans was chosen for the tagline to provide contrast and ensure legibility.”
Colour Palette
When it comes to the colour palette, Marija chose a calming green and beige tones.
She explained, “Green is often associated with nature and growth, which aligns with the brand’s focus on natural beauty.”
“The beige colour was chosen for its neutral and timeless quality, which enhances the elegant and luxurious feel of the brand.”
“In addition to sophistication, the green and beige combination also represents the brand’s focus on natural and organic ingredients.”
The Printing of Business Cards
These business cards have not been printed yet. Even so, Marija suggested having the cards printed on 300gsm cardstock, which provides a sturdy and premium feel to the card.
She continued, “The recommended printing technique for business cards is blind embossing, which adds a subtle yet sophisticated texture to the card and highlights the brand mark pattern.”
Through a harmonious blend of elegant typography, eco-friendly colour palettes, and beautiful textures, Marija has managed to create a striking business card design that exudes class while staying true to the studio’s essence!
