Avery Elias Design designed these business cards for Ninety8 Design Co., a company that specializes in designing modern, elegant and timeless spaces and building homes.
When asked about the inspiration behind the design, Avery replied, “Every successful brand is built on a unique story.”
“Many years ago, the family of the Ninety8 Design Co. founder inherited a property with the address of 98.”
“As a child, the founder would sketch out floorplans and home designs that he imagined would be used on the inherited property.”
“He eventually went on to study architecture and now designs homes for a living.”
“I loved this anecdotal story and the idea of using the property numbers in his business name.”
“After trying out a few variations of words and ways to spell out 98, we finally decided on ‘Ninety8 Design Co.’”
Brand Image and Logo Design
As a company that aims to use eco-friendly practices and represents a new way of thinking, it’s important to create a visual identity that is modern, creative and minimal.
“The client wanted a design that was very modern, minimalist and a bit abstract to match the style of the company’s home designs.”
“The minimalist direction can reflect the modern architectural style and vision of Ninety8 Design Co. better.”
After exploring the possible outcomes for the logo and submarks, Avery and her client finally decided on a sophisticated and contemporary look – a design with sharp typography and minimalist icons.
The Printing of Business Cards
The client handled the card-printing himself. According to Avery, the sides of the card will be painted orange – a great way to make the business card pop, besides the overlapping geometric elements!
Also, a reminder was given by Avery in regards to printing, “One thing you always need to make sure of is to print high-res PDFs or EPS files, and to always use crop/bleed marks.”
