Brittany Lawson designed these business cards for In Bloom, a floral design company that specializes in modern, artistic floral installations for events. Their artistic floral designers often dye the flowers to create non-traditional colour palettes.
“Because In Bloom creates floral installations with very artistic and unique qualities, I came up with their tagline ‘Whimsical Florals Inspired by Art’ which inspired the entire brand,” Brittany said.
“I started with the logo which uses a colour-blocking technique, and created a colour palette that reflects some of the non-traditional colours typically found in their floral designs, and reflects painterly sunset hues.”
“The pattern design is inspired by the famous artist Henri Matisse’s paper cut outs because of their modern look that also reflects the solid colour-blocking approach used for the logomark. I also created a simplified pattern of painterly strokes.”
“This brand design is bold and modern, yet unique in that it stands out from traditional florist brands. The entire brand truly reflects their tagline ‘…inspired by art’ and their signature palette and beautiful installations. The fonts used for the brand are Inknut Antiqua Medium, Cadara and Antro Vectra.”
These business cards are not printed but if they were, here’s what Brittany envisioned them to be, “These cards would ideally be printed with a soft touch finish to reflect the quality of their company and their high-end experience on 80lb cover paper.”
