Mera Café Coffee Shop Business Card

Studio D89 designed these business cards for Mera Café, a coffee shop that’s dedicated to the idea of well-being, where self-produced products are sold.

This coffee-themed business card design is captivating with the use of catchy typography, botanical illustrations and contrasting colours to attract people’s attention.

The brand name, Mera Café, was created based on the brand’s main concept of providing healthy, organic foods without much processing.

Typography & Colour Palette

The typeface used for the logotype is Campaign Slab, a bold font with great legibility.

According to the graphic designer of Studio D89, the letter “e” was modified to depict a coffee bean – the symbol of the brand. The primary typeface was chosen to reflect the client’s desire to portray a modern image through the business cards.

Although the customer decided on the colours, it’s worth noting that the brand opted for green as its main colour rather than the usual brown tones for a coffee brand.

The contrasting colours of orange and green never fail to draw attention. Most of the branding is done in green tones, which fits with the idea that Mera Café sells organic and healthy food.

Botanical Illustration & Business Card Printing

As for the illustration, the branches from the coffee plantation were used to give the brand more personality.

Apart from that, the drawings also give the brand a distinctive vintage vibe. By strategically placing them in front of an enlarged logo (the letter “e”), the business card gives the overall branding a subtle but interesting visual effect.

These business cards have not been printed yet. However, Studio D89 recommended that varnish be used as the print finish to give the cards a unique look.
