Jay Master designed these business cards for FORM, a digital agency based in Washington DC.
Speaking of his client and the design process, Jay said, “The principles are UI/UX designers, but not brand designers. They had a clear idea in that they wanted to be able to use an ‘F’ monogram alone and with their logo type. The ‘F’ would be used on business cards, hats etc.”
Jay provided a few mockups to his client and they chose the one which they thought had the strongest ‘F’ for their vision – strong versatility. So Jay made a few modifications to the client’s pick.
“What they do is very versatile, so they wanted the ‘F’ and brand to communicate versatility and strength,” he explained.
The client handled the card-printing themselves. Even so, Jay did share with us his printing suggestions, “My idea for the cards would be that they’re printed on a brilliant white 130# cover and have a spot UV for the ‘F’.”
Jay is generous enough to share with us these unused yet brilliant variants from the branding project. Check them out and be inspired by the possibilities of a creative mind:
