Meiwen designed these business cards for Bing Haus, an ice cream shop that also serves coffee and tea located in San Diego, California.
Bing Haus is a stylish little dessert shop that has been open since 2016. It’s a space where people can stop, slow down, and be present.
“Other than serving delicious drinks and a variety of desserts, their aim is to create a space where people can come slow down, rest, and find community,” Meiwen said.
Meiwen managed the branding project including designing the brand identity, packaging, signage, wall mural, business card and other collaterals.
Speaking of the logo design, she continued, “Inspired by old-school Korea, we went for a clean sans serif custom logotype. We brought in a nod to Bing Haus’ cultural heritage with ‘빙 하우스’, which is the name in Korean, set in a circle submark.”
The business card design is clean and minimal, with only the necessary contact info displayed on the front of the card.
What’s worth mentioning is that Meiwen also created other printed goods for this dessert shop that serves trendy frozen treats and coffee. All the gift cards, discount cards and loyalty cards are so fun and eye-catching! One can feel the retro and relaxing vibe just by looking at them.
“We chose retro monoline illustrations, and an earthy colour palette for the visual identity that reflects the store’s interior dark green and wood details,” Meiwen explained.
According to Meiwen, the cards are designed to express whimsical comfort, a familiarity and warmth to invite the customers in. “It’s something they’d want to keep, use and share with other people for its good design.”
Let it be the typography or the illustrations, all elements complement the brand identity perfectly. It’s truly a creative, outstanding visual identity that’s not to be missed!
